I moved to New York for film and ended up an Austrian wine & eau de vie specialist - I guess I'm easily distracted and never say no to a schnapps. 4 years in, I live in Brooklyn with my husband Kaj and a pretty sweet collection of ferns and Carson McCullers novels.
My career in wine is a half-tipsy winding road leading all the way back to waiting tables as a teenager. In New York, I got my start as the beverage director at Cafe Katja in the LES and worked a raucous harvest in Austria with Hans Reisetbauer, Bernhard Ott, and Albert Gesellmann in 2015. Branching out into other corners of the wine world, I sold wines from Kermit Lynch and European Cellars for IPO Wines. Now I've found a happy home (and an endless supply of Underberg) at Convive. Special interests outside the beloved country include Corsica, Pic Saint Loup, Priorat, Sherry, long-forgotten indigenous varietals, Calvados & Mezcal.
